The Southwick Community Garden is located within the Sofinowski Wildlife Preserve, is located at 157-135 Mort Vining Road, Southwick, MA (there are two entrances on Mort Vining Road, both are marked by signage).
Plots in the Community Garden are available for all to rent! Each plot, which measures 12' x 24', is $20 to rent for the whole growing season (early spring to early November). Red dashed plots in photo denote currently occupied plots through end of growing season 2023. Please email agcom@southwickma.gov for more information on the Community Garden.
ABOUT THE PRESERVE

Preserved in 2002 by the Town of Southwick, the Sofinowski Wildlife Preserve is over 120 acres in size and in addition to the Community Garden located at the front of the property, it also features a hay field, marked hiking trails, vernal pools, ponds.
There are large boulders dotted among the property. these are large rock deposits left over from the last ice glacier that covered Massachusetts between 22,000 and 14,000 years ago.
The Sofinowski family used to keep sheep on this land. the property was purchased by the Town of Southwick using a Self-Help Grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Starting in October 2023, there will be free stargazing events at Sofinowski organized by the Town of Southwick's Conservation Commission.
